School Planning Council

School Growth Plan Process:

The SPC, PAC and staff are strongly committed to improving student achievement while maintaining the philosophy, educational standards and goals as stated in the school mission statement.

The School Planning Council for Frances Kelsey Secondary School supports the educational program at the school. When we focus on areas to further improve the education for students, we need to recognize that some statistical measurements such as transition rates cannot necessarily be compared evenly with the measurements at other schools. The opportunity for students to take more responsibility for their own learning and its pace is one of the assets of Frances Kelsey Secondary School. By improving some aspects of its delivery we hope to further improve the educational quality and enable students to be more self directed in their learning.

This plan is the result of six meetings of the committee and included consultation and feedback from monthly PAC meetings. Our suggestions for improvement found complementary assistance through the educational review process undertaken by staff. This is reflected in some of the strategic goals in the attached plan.
