These bursaries recognize the life and achievements of Kathy Liebert. Kathy was a secretary for School District #79 (Cowichan Valley) for 14 years. She was a devoted mother and wife and was a passionate and enthusiastic supporter of both school and community sports and the performing arts. This award is designed to acknowledge students who demonstrate a passion and desire to achieve a career within the area of the performing, practical or the fine arts fields.

1. The applicant must be a current, full-time student in attendance at, and a member of the graduation class of Frances Kelsey Secondary School in School District #79 (Cowichan Valley)
2. Applicants must have attended in the same school for the last three years of public school education, and completed the provincial graduation requirements.
3. Preference will be given to applicants who completed all of their education in the public schools of School District #79 (Cowichan Valley).
4. Applicants must be furthering their education in the performing arts, practical arts or fine arts fields.
5. Attach the Frances Kelsey Application form, 3 letters of reference, a resume, a current transcipt, and a letter addressed to the bursary committee.

Conditions:

• Applicants must show proof of apprenticeship and/or acceptance into a post-secondary education;
• All applications must include color photographs or evidence of 3 original pieces from the area of their choice;
• Applicants from the performing arts field must include either a CD or DVD of their performances;
• Recipients have 18 months to show proof to claim the award. Extensions may be granted upon request.
