  Description

Bursary values will vary depending on the amount of money available.

  1. Bursaries available to any graduating student from School District #79 (Cowichan Valley) who is a son/daughter of a United Steelworkers, Local 1-80 member or to a person who is wholly supported by a member in good standing of Local 1-80.
  2. These bursaries only available to students whose parents or guardians are members of USW, Local 1-80 and work for SD 79 (Cowichan Valley).
  3. All applicants must be proceeding to any degree-granting university, regional college, B.C.I.T., or to any other accredited vocational or technical school to complete a course leading to establishing a career.
  4. Proof of enrollment in a recognized educational institution is required before receiving the bursary.
  5. Estimated final mark for school year must be shown on the application.
  6. Financial need will also be considered.
  7. The Steelworkers Local 1-80 reserves the right to withhold the bursary if no candidate has a sufficiently high standard of grade point average.
