Secondary School Apprenticeship Scholarship

  Description

Available to a Secondary School Apprentice for sustained effort and great work as an apprentice. The funds are intended to assist the apprentice with the purchase of tools, equipment or materials necessary for the practice of their trade. To be eligible for the SSA Scholarship, students must:

- be a registered Secondary School Apprentice

- complete 480 hours of paid work experience in their trade area

- maintain a C+ average on Grade 12 numbered courses

- graduate from high school

- complete full time apprenticeship training for five (5) months after graduation (A representative from the Ministry of Advanced Education will verify with your employer that you are continuing your apprenticeship six months past graduation or have 1100 hours reported to ITA).

Scholarships are awarded to all students who meet these eligibility requirements. To apply, fill out the special application form and submit it to Mrs. Munday within 5 (five) months of graduation.

Scholarships are processed once a year on November 30th, following the students' graduation.
